Joseph Addison Alexander was chiar of the chair of Hellenistic and New Testament Literature at Princeton, where he was also a contemporary of Charles Hodge. He authored The Earlier Prophecies of Isaiah, The Later Prophecies of Isaiah, The Psalms Translated and Explained (3 vols.), commentaries on Mark and Matthew, and two volumes of Sermons.
