Overview

In this groundbreaking resource, professor Gerald Bray traces the history of Christian theology from the early church to the modern era. Structured to parallel the order in which orthodoxy gradually matured in response to challenges from both inside and outside the church, this volume outlines how Christians have struggled to understand, confess, and worship the triune God through the centuries.

Extremely helpful book. I have a physical copy of it and it's well written and comprehensive. It flows from chapter to chapter in an unusual way, and so the exact topic previously addressed might not be addressed directly in the next chapter, even though the historical period in the next section has moved forward, the topic is partly new. It seems to move topically based on the historical period and the historical questions which arose in that period.
