Digital Verbum Edition
Jesus in the Bible shows us how Jesus is seen in every book of the Bible, focusing on Christ and His eternal presence, as seen in the Scriptures. This is not an intimidating theology book; rather it is an easy guide to help the reader understand typology found in the Bible—a highly accessible tool for delving deeper into Bible study.
“The five offerings described in chapters 1–7 all point to Christ” (Page 12)
“As Genesis unfolds, this Deliverer, whom we know as Christ, is said to somehow be the offspring of Eve (3:15). He will come, ultimately, from the line of Seth (4:25). He will be the son of Shem (9:27), the descendant of Abraham (12:3), of Isaac (21:12), of Jacob (25:23), and a member of the tribe of Judah (49:10).” (Pages 5–6)
“her grandson David also becomes Israel’s greatest king (and the earthly ancestor of Jesus).” (Page 21)
“This weeping prophet is a type of Jesus. Six centuries later, it is the Son of God who weeps over the same city. ‘O Jerusalem, Jerusalem. The one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate!’ (Matthew 23:37–38).” (Page 47)
“Leviticus points vividly to Jesus. He alone is the spotless Lamb who can make an eternal and final payment for sin. He alone is the perfect High Priest who can represent human rebels before the holy Judge of the universe.” (Page 13)
