I could not speak better than any resource than I could on behalf of this series. This was invaluable in my thesis on the Master's level in New Testament study. Social-science and cross-cultural studies are a sobering approach to the New Testament material. Understanding the setting in political perspective, in regard to the social institutions of the day, in regard to the goals of each social demographic, understanding the socioeconomic conditions and background, and many more insights, all contribute to a deeper level perspective you cannot achieve otherwise. This will change the way you see not only the Scriptures, but how you view yourself in today's world through that study. It will challenge how you have come to believe what you think you already "know" of God's movement in the first century through and around the Jesus of Nazareth.
