Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: SESB 2.0 Version with Apparatus and WIVU Introduction

The Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia is a revision of Rudolf Kittel's Biblia Hebraica, based upon the Leningrad Codex B19A, the oldest dated manuscript of the complete Hebrew Bible. Also included is the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia Apparatus Criticus and the WIVU Introduction. This Stuttgart Electronic Study Edition of the BHS is based upon the morpho-syntactic database of Prof. Eep Talstra and the Free University, Amsterdam.

  • Special lemma search helps you find all inflected forms of a word by simply entering the infinitive
  • Any word offers an English translation and a morphological analysis
  • Search with linguistic databases
It really is a pleasure to look up and search in ways never thought possible before these great electronic resources. I must confess that the 'wow' factor remains high even after roughly three months of use.

This is a very outdated version of the BHS, actually it's from 1967/1977. The traditional introduction has been cut out for some strange reason. I do however like it synchs very well with the Apparatus, but since the edition is so outdated the reader should now updates has been done since 1967/1977. That's why I give it only 2 stars. I also think the price was too high. To this price it's perhaps better to buy an up to date paperback version. As software this edition and Apparatus works excellent on my devices.

I got this package and it is great, really great but I would like to know how to see the Hebrew apparatus visible in other Hebrew Bibles as the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia with Werkgroep. That is the Hebrew Bible I use as default because I got also the Lexham Discourse Bible (8 vols.)
