As you study a passage, it is helpful to know which words in the passage are important. That is, which words are necessary to properly understand in order to better understand the fuller context of the passage. But determining these sorts of words can be difficult. Do you only look at verbs? What about nouns and adjectives? Aren’t prepositions sometimes necessary to evaluate? And sometimes, aren’t conjunctions important too? It’s pretty easy to simply default to either checking everything, or only evaluating one or two words.
