Digital Verbum Edition
Using the Bible as the original textbook, Greg Harris shows readers the continuity and cohesiveness of God’s Word. The Bible Expositor’s Handbook provides a thorough introduction to the attitudes and practices required to deeply understand the message of the Old and New Testaments. Exhorting students of Scripture to approach the Bible with an attitude of humility and expectation, Greg Harris lays the groundwork for a Christ-centered interpretation that takes into account the redemptive story of the whole Bible. Employing a literal-grammatical hermeneutic, Harris leads the reader through the process of observing, interpreting, and applying God’s word.
“To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word” (Page 5)
“one must be humble before God, contrite in spirit, and trembling at His Word” (Page 5)
“discipline of hermeneutics can be defined as the rules by which the Bible is interpreted” (Page 5)
“Second, one must be a learner. In Matt 11:28–29, Jesus” (Page 5)
The Bible Expositor's Handbook, New Testament is a great handbook of the New Testament. Dr. Greg Harris' teaching of God's Word is so foundational. I am blessed by his writings, and am so glad there are links throughout the book, like the 'We've Been Expecting You' sermon series and other journal writings so others can have access to his in-depth studies. The special 'box' notes used to highlight important 'notes' and 'keys' are very beneficial and certainly provide a pause to consider and note what we have just read. Most of all, I believe the handbook on the New Testament (along with the Old Testament Handbook) provides the biblical tools and discipline and loving desire to search and seek our God - digging and discovering so much more about our Lord and Savior - and trusting in God's Word alone, as our salvation in Christ alone.

The Bible's Expositor's Handbook, New Testament takes the reader on a tour of the New Testament with Greg Harris as guide extraordinaire. Each step along the way, our guide directs our attention to the most significant theological themes and provides sound commentary to resolve interpretive issues. He also points out the hazards that can be encountered on our journey through the New Testament text - the exegetical pitfalls to avoid. When combined with the Old Testament volume of this Handbook, the student of Scripture possesses the best expositor's theological guidebook available today.

In The Bible Expositor's Handbook, New Testament Greg Harris takes the reader on a guided expedition through biblical theology. He understands that less than one-quarter of the canon of Christian Scripture, the New Testament, cannot be properly interpreted apart from the preceding theology of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. Throughout its pages, he skillfully unpacks Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings in a manner that is not re-interpreted based upon the New Testament, but rather in a manner that makes all Scripture resonate the praises of the long awaited, promised Lamb of God, the returning Messiah. I highly recommend this resource with its unique format of the biblical text being the primary text, which necessitates that the reader grapple with the Word of God more than the word of man.
