Digital Verbum Edition
Angels have been a popular subject in recent days. Though Finis Jennings Dake never actually wrote a book exclusively on this theme, his many writings, including the extensive commentary notes in the Dake Annotated Reference Bible and the massive text of Gods' Plan for Man, have touched on angels repeatedly. As with any subject, if the Bible spoke at length on it, so did Dake. In Heavenly Hosts the thoughts are Dake's own, as is a significant portion of the text. However, because the material is a compilation from his other writings, portions of the narrative have been constructed in order to provide a necessary flow from point to point. Also, the publishers felt it would be helpful to quote as many verses as possible, rather than simply give all the references parenthetically. In order to accomplish this, additional pieces of narrative were written for the sake of transition between supporting verses. All in all though, this is a book by Finis Jennings Dake. Therefore, as the extended family at Dake Publishing, we offer Heavenly Hosts with the conviction that Finis Jennings Dake is a man like Abel, who though "being dead yet speaketh" (Heb. 11:4).
