Overview

Research into the Septuagint has a long tradition at the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen. The Septuagint represents an interface between the Jewish and the Christian world of life and faith, and is therefore of great importance for the history of religion and culture. The first volume of the Septuagint company, founded in 1908, was published in 1931 under the title “Psalmi cum Odis” and was edited by Alfred Rahlfs. However, the text-critical edition has not yet been completed: the edition plan is based on 35 volumes, 25 of which have been published to date.

  • Features the most detailed critical edition of the Septuagint
  • Considers secondary sources from Philo, Josephus and the Church Fathers
  • References to other sources are linked to your logos resources and can be reached with one click
