Sabina Wurmbrand’s husband, Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, was abducted off the streets of Bucharest, Romania, as he walked to church on February 29, 1948. With her husband’s whereabouts and condition still unknown, Sabina was soon arrested because of her faith and Christian witness. In The Pastor’s Wife, Sabina tells the story of how she and Richard, both atheistic Jews, came to faith in Christ and served as His powerful witnesses while imprisoned by Communist Romanian authorities. Sabrina Wurmbrand (1913-2000) spent three years in prison in Communist Romania for her Christian faith. Her husband, Richard (1909 -2001), endured 14 years of prison and torture for his Christian witness. After Richard and Sabina were able to leave Romania, they founded The Voice of the Martyrs in 1967 to help families of imprisoned Christians in Communist nations and other countries where Christians are persecuted for their faith.
