Life Hurts. The people in this book can prove it by their firsthand experiences. Hurt, Healing, and Happy Again narrates 15 life-changing stories: Dr. Benjamin Carson journeys from a troubled childhood in inner-city Detroit to become a world-renowned neurosurgeon; pastor Noble Alexander clings to hope in Christ while suffering 22 years for his faith in a Cuban dungeon; and Joy Swift forgives the teen who murdered her children. These and many more stories illustrate grace-based Bible doctrine and showcase God’s loving providence in unique healings of the heart. Martin Weber’s pastoral wisdom rounds out each chapter with comments and questions encouraging personal reflection and group discussion.
