Although not a commentary in the proper sense, Frederick Maurice's The Acts of the Apostles: A Course of Sermons form an useful exposition of the Acts of the Apostle. Originally preached St. Peters in 1861, Maurice's expositions on Acts are exegetically informed and applicable even today. Each of the sermons highlight a particular text from Acts and are followed by a exposition of the text.
Frederick Denison Maurice was educated at Trinity College in Cambridge and at Exeter College in Oxford. He was an ordained Anglican and the author of The Kingdom of Christ, The Epistle to the Hebrews, The Old Testament, and The Epistles of St John.
